Nieuwpoort is a nice place with beautiful promenades and beach walks. It is a nice coastal town which in summer would be fab, we went to the Christmas market which had an ice rink and a carousel and lots of bars, not a market atall but it was very pretty with 's of trees with lights on all around it and the church was lit up and a Santa house.
It seemed to be undergoing a large amount of building works in the town so maybe there will be more to see next time. We ate in The Sailor which was great food although a bit limited and no card facilities so we had to go out and find cash after dinner which was annoying but good food and open fire cooking was lovely. A very quiet out of season coastal town, very clean and ideal for walking, shoppingn and eating out.
Very friendly staff in shops and other businesses. If you are tired the coastal tram will take over. This is our second visit to the property great position in the town of Nieuwpoort. Facilities in the house are great. Loads of very good restaurants all within walking distance but did have to book ahead. May be because it was valentines.
Supermarket 5 mins walk away and parking on the toad right outside the house. Sarah easy to contact should it be needed. Will visit again. Spacious, modern appartement with pretty much all amenities available: dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, Perfect location close to shops, restaurants and of course the beach. We liked Nieuwpoort as a base location to visit various things along the coast. I was wondering if there's any such places in Belgium preferably Brussels, but I'd say Gent and Leuven are close enough to be counted in too - maybe even Antwerp : who are know to mainly attract singles, or who host singles events now and then but then again, I mean singles nights orientated at meeting people and having a good conversation , not the type of single nights where it's still noisy as a disco.

I've enjoyed events organized by the Brussels Expats Club, which has events ranging from simply meeting up for drinks somewhere, to trips or hikes, so you can pick what sounds good. Or there are other groups more focused on a particularly activity which likely has more locals, and many are tagged as singles-friendly. I've used meetup. I think the proportion of singles are pretty high, and being a group setting, it's a pretty easy way to meet people and have real conversations.
