Arrived around hrs and encountered what is evidently a common problem in Ostend - parking the car. The male receptionist suggested that we just drive around looking for a free space because the official car parks would be expensive - he reckoned around 20 euros for one night.

Eventually, having driven round and round the area for half an hour we gave up and parked in an underground car park 2 mins walk away. Price actually turned out to be 5 Euros!!! Hotel rooms were basic but fine - we had ordered two singles for 65 Euros each including breakfast. They were decent value for the money with separate WC and separate bathroom with an excellent shower. Like many hotels I found the room too hot during the night; …. We had been booked in to the Martins Grand Hotel at Waterloo but this they decided to close a day before our arrival due to a large number of cancellations.

However they transfered out booking to here at no extra Beautifull forest around, free parking space , nice swimming pool and welness, and close to Brussels. Used this Hotel in regards to a training and stayed there 5 nights. Location very nice in the middle of La Hulpe Woods.

Staff very Friendly - Rooms Nice - Food was really good. Also Fitness and Pool available. Fast free wifi. Breakfast was OK. Really nice new place. We came to charge our car at the Tesla Supercharger and stayed for a while to enjoy a coffee and a beer. The place is nice, new, very clean.

Staff is very friendly as well. Didn't try any food The room was a good size and well furnished with free WiFi , bed was comfortable, and I heard no noise during the night.

Carlton saw that Charles-Louis and Clotilde might like to connect to the European Prayer Breakfast, even though at that time he had no official role with it himself. It was the beginning of a close association between the European Prayer Breakfast and the Merodes, and also the beginning of a great friendship between us and them.

Since then, the Merodes have done a great deal to draw other friends into the Prayer Breakfast in Brussels. They have also tried to gather Belgian politicians for their own prayer breakfast—a challenging prospect and a brave action in the current political climate of the country. And they have been increasingly interested in how they could start new prayer breakfasts among politicians and other leaders in other European countries. Back in , a group of current and former political leaders gathered there to begin a movement toward this. They were also inspired by a visit to a hospitality house supported by the movement in Washington DC, and have worked with us to find the right venue for this in Brussels.

Then, a year or so ago, they heard that a castle that belonged to another member of their family, part of their historical heritage, was being put on the market. This was the Chateau Rixensart, only 30 minutes outside Brussels as compared with nearly 2 hours to Schloss Merode. And now it is theirs! The day they signed, they called us and asked us to come over to the property to pray that God would bless and use it. That opportunity came sooner than expected when a meeting between prayer breakfast leaders planned for Schloss Merode at the end of February could not meet there due to a national event in Germany.
