We stayed at the Novotel and they had a party well into the small hours which was great fun. I brought along my family to experience Ypres, to see the Museums to shop and to enjoy the Christmas Market. We arrived on Sunday evening, intending to spend Monday in Ypres. All of the local sites and Museums were closed except the one in the Clothe Hall. We struggled to find somewhere to purchase a hot drink even the coffee shop in the Clothe Hall was closed. The much anticipated Christmas Market remained closed. Only one small stall opened. The highlight of the trip the Menin Gate service lasted about 5 mins.
