Good hotel, Central to Mechelen. This hotel is In the centre of Mechelen so an excellent location, surrounded by bars but doesn't suffer from late night external revelry that you might expect. It has an interesting history too!
Good breakfast and very pleasant staff happy to cook eggs and bacon. Fresh clean linen every day but my room did suffer from early morning noise that I was told came from the air conditioning units but sounded more like tumble driers! Excellent location, interesting history, clean and functional. In the centre of Mechelen, several bars and restaurants nearby. Hotel is converted from two small factories and has some interesting machine artefacts on display. I was staying alone so no problem. Is it business or pleasure? You decide! A superb hotel with a lot going for it. Very comfortable and stylish rooms. I have stayed here on 3 or 4 occasions over the last 18 months, and never been disappointed. The atmosphere of the hotel is very relaxed and informal, making it equally suitable for business trips or a nice weekend break.
There is a spa with sauna and pool, and a comfortable bar area. The only complaint which stops me from giving it a 5 rating is that you are unable to get food after 10pm and the mini bar isn't stocked, and there are no local restaurants open either after this time on a week day typically.
