Just returned from an excellent stay in LA - Los Angeles Forum

I liked the quietness at night in Downtown LA and in the weekend there were shows in front of the hotel. Everything touristic was easily reacheable through taxi or public transportation as none of us drove. All staff we encountered were super friendly and willing to do something extra for you if you were just friendly back. The size of the room was comfortable, if you want to live in your hotel room then it's shame when you're in a place like LA!

On our first day we visited the LA zoo which was very nice and quiet since we visited it on a Thursday morning. In the afternoon we took a cab back downtown and visited China Town.

The place itself is pretty small but with all the stores in and nearby we spent the whole afternoon there and walked back to our hotel. Again, very very nice! I got more than I expected really. The tourguy knew a lot of television and movie history and was very helpful and eager to answer any questions we had. In the afternoon we took a cab and went to Hollywood.

Visited the walk of fame, Grauman's Theater and spent time shopping at the Hollywood shopping center. The stores were open untill 10pm which was so nice, in Belgium nothing is open untill 10pm! Had a lovely meal at a Japanese restaurant at the shopping center and took a cab back to our hotel. The last day we walked around downtown a bit. We wanted to go to the MOCA which is just next door to our hotel but it turns out there was only one exhibit open to public the staff very friendly warned us about it before we got our tickets. So we took a stroll in downtown, it was so nice and quiet not desolated but quiet and nice to walk around since it was a Sunday.

Went to Macy's and then took a cab to Santa Monica Beach. We asked at a hotel if they would hold on to our bags for the time we were there because we had to catch a plane back that night to NY, and they did it without any problems.

Santa Monica is so nice! The whole atmosphere, Third Street Promenade was a bit crowded but still, very nice. Santa Monica pier was crowded too, but the beach itself was not crowded at all and looked beautiful at sunset. We also stayed there for one day but really, LA was a lot nicer. Not because I was tired and lacked sleep. But people were just friendlier and more laid back in LA. I would definetly go back!
