One of our friends put us up in this hotel when we visited her in London. She saw the room before we arrived and was horrified. The hotel refused to cancel the reservation and she apologized to us for selecting this hotel. They gave us a triple room.

The room had no windows except from the bathroom. It was a trip in history! The room looked like it hadn't been touched since the WW2 bombing of London by the Luftwaffe. Each bed had a different mattress. From firm to totally soft. All were very uncomfortable. They may have been salvaged from the bombing of London who knows.

The bathroom was sort of OK for one night. I was never able to connect to their wifi even with the wonderful help of the front desk. The experience was so unexpected that my wife and I kept laughing at ….

Worst hotel ever used in last 20 years. Wallpaper falling off. Room had 3 different carpet colour patches, stapled to floor and cutting your feet. Bathroom light not working, ventilation so noisy it sounds like a jet engine all night.

Mattress so worn , you can feel every spring. Loose extension leads around the room trip hazard.

Treat yourself (or family & friends)!

Furniture with half the handles missing. Rooms so tiny you can't get a cat in, never mind swinging it.

The rooms are in a very typical 19th century building with a lot of atmosphere but with the drawbacks of old buildings such as a very small elevator, steep staircases, narrow corridors.
